Attacks, Fighting in Tikrit; 68 Killed across Iraq

No civilian casualties were reported. Nevertheless, 68 people died and 31 were wounded in the latest violence.

A suicide bomber killed four security personnel and wounded 16 more at a base in Shajarat al-Dur, near Tikrit. The bombing was followed by an attack involving dozens of militants. The battle is still raging.

Six militiamen were killed in Balad. Dozens of policemen are under investigation for their murders.

A bomb killed two security personnel and wounded four more in Mtabijh.

A suicide bomber killed two policemen at the Alas oil fields. Fighting continues there as well.

At the Ajil oil fields, a policeman and three militants were killed in clashes.

In Falluja, missiles left 18 militants dead.

Shelling by Peshmerga forces in Daquq left 10 militants dead and 10 more wounded.

Seven militants were killed and one more was wounded in Sinjar. At least eight more were killed in those or other confrontations.

Turkmen fighters killed five militants in Taza.
