At least nine Iraqis were killed and six more were wounded in light violence, only a day after significant bloodshed was seen across Iraq. The worst of the violence took place in the northern cities of Mosul and Kirkuk.
In Mosul, gunmen shot an employee of a cement company. An attack at a barbershop left one customer dead and the owner wounded. The decapitated body of a policeman was found. A soldier was killed at a checkpoint. A blast left two civilians wounded.
Two brothers were killed in a drive-by shooting in Kirkuk. A highway attack left one person dead and his wife wounded.
A bomb killed a soldier and wounded another in Tuz Khormato.
In Baghdad, a military officer was killed during a drive-by shooting in the Saidiya neighborhood.
A roadside bomb in Baquba wounded a policeman.
