Sunday: 6 Iraqis Killed, 27 Wounded
At least six Iraqis were killed and twenty-seven others were wounded in new violence. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced a 100-day evaluation period for government ministries to shape-up, as a result of widespread protests on Friday.
Twenty-seven demonstrators were wounded in Amara, including a young child who was shot.
Asayesh agents killed five men suspected of planning an attack on Suleimaniya.
In Muqdadiya, a former Sahwa member was killed in a machine-gun attack.
Nineteen suspects were arrested across Diyala province.
The governor of Ninewa province accused the commander of Iraq’s 2nd Army Division of being behind attacks that led to the burning of the provincial government building on Friday.
The governor of Babel province resigned.
