Saturday: 1 US Marine, 2 Iraqis Killed; 8 Iraqis Wounded

At least two Iraqis were killed and eight more were wounded in the latest violence; however, no reports came out of Mosul where attacks occur on a daily basis. One U.S. Marine was killed in a non-combat incident.

In Baghdad, two dumped bodies were discovered on Thursday; the two are believed to be victims of a surge in anti-homosexual, honor killings. A bomb wounded seven in Za’afaraniya.

One civilian was wounded during a blast in Baquba.

Ten rocket-propelled grenades were seized in two separate locations in Amara. Eight suspects were arrested in a separate operation.

Across Diyala province, 23 al-Qaeda suspects were captured.

Eight suspected gunmen were arrested in Fallujah.

A rocket and an improvised explosive device were defused in separate parts of Hawija.
