The Lap Bomber Mystery
A case that just gets curiouser and curiouser
It just wouldn’t be Christmas in the age of terror if we didn’t have a visitation, ostensibly from al-Qaeda, now would it? ‘Tis the season, and all that. Recall Richard Reid, the "shoe bomber," arrested on December 22, 2001, for trying to blow up American Airlines flight 63, coming into Miami from Paris. As in the current case involving one Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian, the explosive used was PETN, also known as pentaerythritol: Reid, like Umar, was subdued by passengers and airline attendants, and, to add yet another touch of déjà vu, Reid’s stunt led to the imposition of the take-off-your-shoes rule at airport security, just as Umar’s midair antics have now inspired the Transportation Safety Authority to inaugurate a spate of new regulations: nothing in your lap, please, and no getting up from your seat for a solid hour before landing.
Also please note the timing: the Reid incident occurred at a volatile moment, right after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and just as the Bush administration was ramping up to invade both Afghanistan and Iraq. Umar, the lap bomber – so called because he apparently had his explosive device hidden in his pants – also leaps onto the international stage at a sensitive time, when President Obama is launching a major offensive in Afghanistan and the US has "assisted" Yemen in its air strikes on the alleged al-Qaeda stronghold in that country – where Umar, we’re told, received "training" and the actual explosive device.
Yes, the parallels are certainly eerie – but so what? After all, these terrorists are seemingly a simple-minded lot, if the behavior and demeanor of, say, Richard Reid is any indication. How many different explosive substances are available for such a "job," and, at any rate, what else can one expect from the TSA in response except a bunch of useless and needlessly intrusive regulations that have little relevance to what happened? And, of course, the US, it seems, is always launching some new attack or military campaign, somewhere, so the timing is pure chance. Right?
What’s more, the pattern fails when we take into account our own mindset, eight years after the Shoe-na’bomber affair: back then, we were all too frightened out of our wits to really question anything the government told us, and the news media reported. We took it all at face value, and trusted in the gods that we wouldn’t all be blown to smithereens in the next attack, which – for all we knew – could have come at any time.
Eight years later, our mental processes have been quickened, through bitter experience, and a growing cynicism which leads us to notice – and question – several seeming anomalies, such as: why, when Umar’s own father – a prominent banker – contacted the US embassy, and met with the CIA as well as the Nigerian intelligence agency, and warned them his son might pose a danger, was Umar allowed on a plane entering the US? Authorities tell us that he was in a database, consisting of over half a million people, said to pose a risk, but not on the "no fly" list, in spite of his own father’s warning.
How could this happen? Inquiring minds want to know.
Another break in the Shoe’na-bomber pattern is Umar himself, whose life of wealth and privilege stands in stark contrast to Reid’s. While Reid was the poor son of a jailbird, a nobody with an apparently limited mental capacity, Umar is the son of Dr. Umaru Mutallab, former economics minister in the Nigerian government and one of the country’s most prominent bankers: schooled at the exclusive British International School in Lome, Togo, and an aspiring mechanical engineer, he had a bright future ahead of him, and if any single word could be used to characterize his life prior to the Christmas day incident, it would be access.
Access not only to the best schools and opportunities, and to his posh London digs, but also access to planes without the proper documents, as one Kurt Haskell, who was on the same flight with Umar, testifies:
“I was on this flight today and am thankful to be alive. My wife and I were returning from an African safari and had this connecting flight through Amsterdam. I sat in row 27, which was 7 rows behind the terrorist. I got to see the whole thing take place and it was very scary. Thanks to a few quick acting people I am still alive today.
"…I was next to the terrorist when he checked in at the Amsterdam airport early on Christmas. My wife and I were playing cards directly in front of the check in counter. This is what I saw (and I relayed this to the FBI when we were held in customs):
"An Indian man in a nicely dressed suit around age 50 approached the check in counter with the terrorist and said ‘This man needs to get on this flight and he has no passport.’ The two of them were an odd pair as the terrorist is a short, black man that looked like he was very poor and looks around age 17(Although I think he is 23 he doesn’t look it). It did not cross my mind that they were terrorists, only that the two looked weird together. The ticket taker said ‘you can’t board without a passport.’ The Indian man then replied, ‘He is from Sudan, we do this all the time.’. I can only take from this to mean that it is difficult to get passports from Sudan and this was some sort of sympathy ploy. The ticket taker then said ‘You will have to talk to my manager,’ and sent the two down a hallway. I never saw the Indian man again as he wasn’t on the flight. It was also weird that the terrorist never said a word in this exchange. Anyway, somehow, the terrorist still made it onto the plane. I am not sure if it was a bribe or just sympathy from the security manager."
This goes way beyond weird, all the way to sinister. Perhaps we should take Janet Napolitano’s assurance that “right now we have no indication that it is part of anything larger” with a gargantuan grain of salt. Not only that, but maybe we should simply make a new rule, as follows: anything Madame Napolitano or any government official says about this or any other similar incident should be considered, at the outset, an outright lie. Assuming deception as the default, we might be better off believing the exact opposite. This argument is especially compelling in light of what Mr. Haskell has to say about the aftermath of the Christmas bomb attempt:
"FBI also arrested a different Indian man while we were held in customs after a bomb sniffing dog detected a bomb in his carry on bag and he was searched after we landed. This was later confirmed while we were in customs when an FBI agent said to us ‘You are being moved to another area because this area is not safe. Read between the lines. Some of you saw what just happened.’(The arrest of the other Indian man). I am not sure why this hasn’t made it into any news story, but I stood about 15-20 feet away from the other Indian man when he was cuffed and arrested after his search."
Why isn’t the "mainstream" media reporting this? Well, perhaps they just don’t know about it: or it could be they do know and have been asked to keep a lid on it by the authorities, not the first time such a thing has happened when it comes to the dissemination of "sensitive" information.
In any case, given the veracity of Haskell’s account, it is clear that, contrary to news reports, Umar was no "lone nut," but had at least one accomplice with him on board the plane. Furthermore, both of his accomplices – the one who got him on the plane without a passport, and the one nabbed by the bomb-sniffing dog – may have been Indians.
What India has to do with all this is sheer speculation. While India’s foreign intelligence service, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), stands accused by Pakistanis of being behind much of the sectarian strife that riles the region, it’s unclear – to me, at least – what interest they would have in stirring the pot in faraway Yemen, the supposed source of the plot. If, however, it should suddenly be discovered that the "real" source of all this lies in the tribal regions of Pakistan, where Washington insists Osama bin Laden & Co. have set up their world headquarters, the Indian connection would make sense.
Haskell concludes his account as follows:
"What also didn’t make the news is that we were held on the plane for 20 minutes after it landed! A bomb could have gone off then. This wasn’t too smart of security to not let us off the plane immediately.
"You can see what time I am writing this as I am having a hard time sleeping tonight. Just thought some of you would like to know what I saw, Merry Christmas."
A telling note of authenticity there: clueless bureaucrats keep him on a plane that might be about to explode, and a Merry Christmas to all – and to all a good night!
No wonder the poor guy couldn’t sleep. If I were in his shoes, I wouldn’t sleep for a week. And if, somehow, I did manage to take a cat nap or two, I’d dream of Umar being led onto the plane, passport-less, escorted by his mysterious helpers, including several demonic figures lurking in the background, chortling and rubbing their hands together in gleeful anticipation.
We are asked to believe that a highly privileged young man, with everything to live for, was suddenly seized with a desire to commit suicide as an act of jihad: that he disappeared from his life of ease, on a street lined with Mercedes Benzes and Ferraris, in a fashionable district of London, and traveled to Yemen, where he received what may have been a defective bomb, which was sewn into his underwear by his jihadist trainers. This bomb then went undetected in Amsterdam airport, where the security arrangements are said to be tight (and a personal interview is conducted), and where he was let on a plane headed for the US in spite of explicit warnings given by his own father.
I’m not buying it, and, furthermore, in the context of Haskell’s testimony, another narrative seems just as likely: that this was a staged incident, a false flag operation, launched by those who have everything to gain by ramping up the atmosphere of hysteria and fear that regularly precedes America’s wars. This – admittedly speculative – scenario, of which I am equally skeptical, is buttressed, however, by the testimony of Jasper Schuringa – the passenger who leapt out of his seat on the other side of the plane, put out the fire, and secured Umar in a headlock – who says of the alleged terrorist:
“He was shaking. He didn’t resist anything. It’s just hard to believe that he was trying to blow up this plane. He was in a trance. He was very afraid.”
He didn’t resist? This hardly seems like the behavior one might expect of some fanatic jihadist bent on destruction and meeting those virgins in the afterlife.
The simplistic narrative that took shape as the news broke is already beginning to break up into something a bit more complicated, as additional information comes out, including this brief news item that just came across the wires:
"A passenger aboard the same Northwest Airlines flight that was attacked
on Christmas Day was taken into custody here Sunday after becoming verbally
disruptive upon landing, officials said.
"A law enforcement official said the man was Nigerian and had locked himself
in the airliner’s bathroom. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because
the investigation was ongoing.
"Delta Air Lines spokeswoman Susan Elliott said crew members requested
that security remove the man from Flight 253 after he became disruptive. The
remaining 255 passengers got off safely, she said.
"Airport spokesman Scott Wintner said it was the same flight on which a
man tried to set off an explosive on Christmas Day.
"’The pilot requested emergency assistance upon arrival,’ he said. Security
and airline personnel are on edge since the attempted terror attack on Christmas
Day, and the law enforcement official said that lesser incidents had been reported
on other flights arriving in Detroit, but the incident with the Nigerian man
had sparked the most concern."
Whether Nigerian, or Indian, something is up here, and it seems to have little to do with al-Qaeda, which – breaking its past habit of promptly taking "credit" – has yet to claim responsibility for the attempted attack. More grounds for suspicion: allegations that the Detroit incident was planned and carried out by al-Qaeda in Yemen can be traced back to "IntelCenter," a mysterious private contractor with a dubious reputation [.pdf] (see frames 89-100) that does business with the intelligence community.
Another shoe is bound to drop – the arrest of this other "Nigerian" may be it, along with the surprising news that Detroit, for some reason, seems to be the latest "terrorist" target – and when it does, I’m wondering how much closer to the truth we’ll get. One thing is certain, however, and it is this: look on the pronouncements of government officials with a very jaundiced eye.
Already Joe Lieberman and several Republicans are calling for more preemptive strikes on targets in Yemen, and it’s not hard to see that the US is very close to opening up yet another "front" in our eternal "war on terrorism." Deeper into the quagmire we go – and those demons in my dreamscape are chortling ever louder.

No offense, Mr. Raimondo, but if I were one of two Nigerians on a trans-Atlantic flight, and the other one turned out to be a terrorist, I would lock myself in the bathroom and not come out until I was sure that I wouldn't be greeted by an angry lynch mob on the other side. Suspicious behavior be damned: in the aftermath of an attempted bombing, simply looking like the suspect is suspicious enough for some people, and I'd rather be a suspicious prisoner than an innocent looking corpse.

Justin, you do seem to be waking up. Don't stop now! False flag? Gee, you think? It doesn't take much critical thinking to figure out who was behind this. All we have to do is wait for our senator from Tel Aviv to open his big mouth. Now repeat after me, "by way of deception, thou shall do war".

Take a deep breath and realize that it is impossible, almost impossible, to differentiate between an Indian and a Pakistani and a Bangladeshi. Almost impossible.
Once this fact is understood, all the other junk about nefarious plots, RAW and CIA would be understood for what it is.

First off, since Lantos, I mean, Lieberman is involved, we need to figure out what UsRael wants from Yemen.
Secondly, why Detroit? A plane bound to Detroit would have significantly more Arab Americans than a plane going to say, Boise, because of the high % of Arabs in Michigan. A good % of whom would be Muslims.
Why would "Al Qaeda" attack Muslims?
And thirdly, Justin, as a former resident of the Golden State, I would fear a massive earthquake underneath San Francisco, which is predicted within the next 30 years, way more than spindly, terrified, "terrorists" w/ firecrackers.

The recent Indo-Israeli "counter-terrorism" meetings suggest that "faraway Yemen" may not be so far away from Indian interests after all.
"According to reports Indian and Israeli defence officials and senior military strategic planners met in New Delhi on December 22 and discussed a detailed approach to a joint plan to counter-terrorism and share intelligence on Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Gulf region. Other secret meetings and engagements were not revealed to the media."

Interesting that all the incidents of US officials finding or stopping so-called terrorists does not involve a single death to alleged terrorists or to US officials. It is likely that such incidents are
"staged" to continue keeping fear on the minds of pre-occupied US citizens.
Just keep your attention on US wars in Iraq, Afghanistant and Pakistan. Real problems with
losing solutions.

It's interesting to me to note that three weeks ago the TSA accidentally leaked its screening procedures, including photos of Government IDs as well as what to look for in an authentic ID.

Justin,
How the author of the excellent The Terror Enigma: The Israeli Connection to 9/11, fails to see the Zionist connection to this story — despite the reference to the Senator from Tel Aviv — beats me. This excerpt from a recent article on Israel's role in the destabilisation of Pakistan, however, may help to explain the apparently "curious" Indian connection to this most recent "terror enigma":
"In January 2009, Israel delivered to India the first of three Phalcon Airborne Warning & Control Systems (AWACS) shifting the balance of conventional weapons in the region. That sale confirmed what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had earlier announced: “Our ties with India don’t have any limitation….” That became apparent in April when Israel signed a $1.1 billion agreement to provide India an advanced tactical air defense system developed by Raytheon, a U.S. defense contractor."

All these new airport regulations are just treating the symptoms – not the disease, as Freud wld say, trying to blow out a light bulb without looking for the switch
The disease is centuries of Western domination going back to the Crusades and before – with millions of indigenous dead and billions of dollars worth of natural resource wealth stolen by force
Thats why they dont like us – and Israel isnt helping either

What I find interesting, but about which I have heard no comment is the "terrorist''s state of mind. At the ticket counter he did no talking, he offerred no resistance to his Dutch captor, and another witness had said the "terrorist" seemed stunned by the whole event. It sounds like this "terrorist" was drugged. If he had to be drugged, if this specific person needed to be used, then the real target of this event is someone else, possibly the Nigerian government or his father.

Weak analysis this time.
1. If a friend or family member reports you as being suspicious, they shouldn't put you on a terrorist watch list right away. This has to be checked out.
2. Suicide bomber motives have already been proven not effected much by bright/dark futures or economical factors. Read Pape on that.
3. Haskell's statements are interesting but still have to be confirmed. Witnesses rarely have it entirely accurate. The "Indian" man could have been someone from a hired service to escort and sort things out. The terrorist's family might use these services.
4. No resistance and in shock. Is there a book somewhere how terrorist are supposed to behave in their last moments? Foaming at the mouth like in the movies or perhaps just sweating and praying as they expect death?
5. Second Nigerian appeared to have had food poisoning. Checking the septic tank would clear that up…also in case he flushed something else.
All in all there's NOT a REAL CASE yet to be made. The only curious thing about this is why the US is so busy in Yemen and the majority sits still and is letting it all happen after blowback 9/11.

Forget the "Lap Bomber". The far more important issue is: Who rigged the WTC buildings for demolition with explosives/incendiaries prior to 09/11/2001?
Who was it, exactly, that murdered 3000 people on that day (and set in motion the illegal/immoral military aggression that threatens to murder millions more)?
The recently published video analysis now inndisputably proves (if any more proof was needed, and it wasn't), that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job:
http://www.youtube.com/user/ae911truth#p/u/0/O36R…
Why isn't the NY City District Attorney or any other Law Enforcement Agency investigating this murderous fraud? WHY?

MMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm………………………….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too weird even for me… Funny though how it has manifold anomalies like all such events in the past..
Zombie bomber, Zombie president reading children"s story while death reigns…. Zombie media reports
as told and zombie citizens flock to whatever the "official" authorities spin.. Nothing to see here….Move on!! Unless you are on an airliner that may be bombed, that is…"Just being safe" no doubt…. But don't try to get a real investigation…. It's not patriotic to question the official version of such events… We've given our probing into these type of events over to Jesse Ventura…. it seems.
Perhaps a tough minded rather independent ex-wrestler with no subpoena power will be more potent than the past efforts of a lap dog "justice" and judiciary that we have been saddled with.. I remember that Seymore Hirsh said before the elections that when the bush cabal was out, whistle blowers would come forward….. But aside from Paul O'Neil there don't seem to be any such occurrences… Perhaps it's a hint at the provenance of our "new" administration along with it's (his) premiere appointment.. Still there are many interesting scenarios to play out… Where is Senior Holder these days..?? He seemed eager and genuine BEFORE his elevation… Bringing KSM to the mainland was a bold move.
but… We don't hear much about the illegal acts by the former gang though. Good Morning Yemen..!!

I'll let FoxNoise say it for me:

Who makes the ProVision Body Scanning machines? L-3 Communications, a top 10 Government contractor that generated $13 Billion in Revenue in 07 and whose CEO was compensated ~$12 Million. One of its VPs listed on Wikipedia is a retired 4 star Army General, the other VP is a retired 4 star Air Force General.
According to Opensecrets.org, L-3 donated money to three Democratic Senators, one Decmocratic Congressman, and one Republican Congressman.
http://www.opensecrets.org/usearch/index.php?sear…
And to wrap it all up with a nice little bow on top, Amsterdam is one of the airports already equipped with such machines, and has had them since May 15, 2007.

Somewhere else, I saw picture of the Nigerian plutocrat's son, and he looks nothing like this terrorist shill, who seems to have been easily mistaken for a Sudanese pauper. Years of high grade nutrition for the Nigerian's son, nothing but a hardscrabble road for the – possible – shill who having borne the wounds can now be conveniently dispensed with. If this is indeed a prince and a pauper scenario.
Ah those clever fellows in CIA. When you look up the chemical formula for the explosive it looks in some illustrations like a swastika surrounded by hydroxyl groups which would say (if they could talk) HO-HO-HO-HO – Merry Christmas!
So that's how a false flag would look: too clever by half. Reality? We do need no stinking reality (or even passports).

Here is my take on this event.
The plane, the passengers were never in any sort of dangers.
Because the whole incident was carefully orchestrated and secret service people were on board as passengers and were watching the Nigerian's every move.
The plan was/is to make Americans aware of Yemen because US will be expanding the war into Yemen very soon. Government is giving the answer before Americans ask the question.

Probably because it's not a fraud per se. Prior to a certain pair of telescoping steel-framed building collapses, I suspect a bright fifth grader would have called them demolitions -though (s)he might have put it as a question. What you're calling a 'fraud' is right out in the open, and 'we' are cowering from it. I think this is in the area of the psychology of dominant-submissive relationships more than it is about fraud/discovery, and progress will be scant until exactly that is addressed. Witness the shouting down of dissenters on Fox. Some people cheer that, and get confidence from it. They think they're seeing 'winners' beat up on 'fair game.' This must change.

Lots of "fraud" relies on some type of psychological manipulation. And of course this "fraud" is no different. Here, it's clear that the "perpetraitors" are relying on media control, political power and public incredulity, to avoid the consequences of their crimes.
The "debunker" propaganda stream is aimed not so much at thinking people as it is at moral cowards…it's primary purpose being to give the moral cowards an excuse not to think. But this video should strip away any last bit of doubt from anyone open to reason.

I find it funny that the TSA is trying to bring online and gain acceptance for the "full body Scanners" at this time. And just by coincidence, these scanners are designed to detect just such a destructive instrument? Coincidence?

Justin (and Cockburn) would say you're another one of those gullible 9/11 conspiracy nutters–unless he's changed his tune since I last visited this site on a regular basis.

THe minute I heard about the well-dressed man getting him through passport control, I thought Al Qaeda, the CIA creation. Still, the CIA could probably get a better detonator. Plus, could anyone BUT the highest level western intelligence get someone on this plane without a passport? How is this possible?
The lawyer who's telling this story must know it has serious implications, either for incompetence or conspiracy. Why would a guy with experience in the law and military open his mouth on this topic?
Someone must not want him opening his mouth, but he prob hates democrats, and that's why wants to expose the govt lapses. Anyway, bizarro world returns. We'll see where it goes, which is quietly under the rug.

I agree, a false flag operation to get us into Yeman as well as the usual suspects Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, and Afganistan. Israel has no bounds to it's insane ambitions of total control of the Middle East.

What a load of horse nuggets.
Let's see…are we going to see an extension of the oxymoronic Patriot Act? This, I believe, will be the point at which Americans will throw off their blinders and realize that we are in the Monkey King's third term…he just got a frickin' tan.

Oh…Dov Hikind should probably keep his corrupted fat maw shut…if we were to begin "Ethnic Profiling", I think that many of his brethren would be banned from setting foot on U.S. soil…or did you all forget the TWO HUNDRED Israelis rounded up during the events of September 11th?

It sounds like the lap bomber was under pain-drug-hypnosis or at least some form of psychoactive drug to keep him "compliant". This guy got on in Amsterdam, not in corrupt Nigeria, where it would be less of a stretch to imagine lax security and a bribe to get on board. Tho I heard that ICTS is the (Israeli) outsourced security for Amsterdam airport (must be a coincidence). It's not merely a matter of this guy getting on the plane sans passport, how did he get thru the initial security check area? I can say for any US airport, coming from a foreign location and/or going to any int'l flight you MUST provide your ticket and a passport before you can head to the gate areas. Also when going thru customs, you still have to provide your passport. This guy benefitted from at least 2 checks for a passport.
Not to mention the possible accomplice on the plane–why would there be a 2nd person to do this? It doesn't appear that he (the 2nd person arrested) tried to detonate any device. Was he there merely to make sure that the appropriate "scene" was made? Very strange.
Stranger still was the fact that the guy who stops the lap bomber is from the other side of the plane. There were minimally 12 others closer. Did all of them retreat in fear when the explosion happened? Did the persons next to him not notice him reaching into his skivvies for a syringe and a bag??
Now after Mr Lap Bomb goes to hospital he's placed in a minimum security prison?! We have children held w/no evidence in Gitmo (which is totally wrong by the way), but I guy who is witnessed doing this is sitting in min security?

No that was a different day, different plane, same flight route and number. The bathroom incident was a couple days later.

Body scanners won't do much good if the bomb is inside the body, as it was in the dude who tried to kill a Saudi prince a few months ago. If the Muslims really want to drop planes from the sky, they can send out suicide bombers with 5 pounds of high explosive inside a body cavity – probably with female bombers since they have bigger body cavities. The only way to guard against this is to use penetrating x-rays to examine the insides of all passengers, and I'm sure that frequent flyers will really appreciate the radiation dose they are given, won't they?

OMG! The Patriot Act is set to expire on Dec. 31 2009 and then this lap bomber happens.
We need to extend the Patriot for another 2 or 15 years or so.
Better yet, just extend the Patriot for eternity.
And bring out the duct tape and plastic sheeting.
Raise the Terror Alert to Code Magenta ASAP!
Do it for the children.

let us say that this man was offered a lot of money to fly to america with what he thought was an underwear full of drugs, in place of this rich boy that told him that he did not want his rich dad to know were he is, being setup he was clueless what was going on, when his balls were on fire and people were jumping on him……?

Exactly John. There's no smoking gun here or is a conspiracy theory with any validity emerging. If there's anything to get mad about, it's the dismal failure of the CIA. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. This isn't 9/11.

[...] Considering that during the months before 9-11, the FBI had their finger on the pulse of the pre-9-11 terrorist network in Yemen (to which the Bush Administration was in “ignore” mode), it is curious that U.S.has subsequently enjoyed the sort of relationship with Yemen over the past 8 years, where we could rendition detainees there to be tortured at our CIA black sites in Yemen. Which makes it somehow ironic that the media is using the Yemen connections of the recent underwear bomber to help us recall and re-ignite our anger over 9-11. It seems the American public is now being signaled that it’s time to switch from from ignore-mode to the outrage-mode being feigned by our leaders. This is, of course, our cue, as patriotic, freedom-loving Americans to rally behind our pre-Christmas bombing campaign waged on the innocent men, women and children in Yemen, which promises to be an ongoing campaign in the war formerly known as Bush’s war on terror. It is no coincidence that this latest bombing campaign was already underway when the underpants bomber boarded the plane for America. Nor is it a coincidence that the trail of the underpants bomber is littered with questions that, for the official record, go unasked and unanswered. [...]

Thanks for talking some sense. An Indian looking guy could very well be a Pakistani or a Bangladeshi or for that matter even Persian or Arabic. RAW is one of the lowest profile intel agencies in the world and would never send an "Indian" looking guy to blow up a US bound plane; they are low profile but they ain't dumb.
