Bibi’s Dilemma — and Barack’s
“Bibi” Netanyahu was disgusted.
"My initial reaction is that Iran has gotten a freebie. It has got five weeks to continue enrichment without any limitation."
The Israeli prime minister was referring to Saturday’s meeting in Istanbul of the P5-plus-1 — the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council and Germany — with representatives from Iran.
Subject: Iran’s nuclear program. After a "constructive" meeting of one day, all agreed to meet again in Baghdad, May 23, and departed.
For Bibi, it was a strategic defeat.
For Israel’s goal is a halt to Iran’s enrichment of uranium and the removal of enriched uranium from that country.
But Catherine Ashton, the foreign minister for the European Union who is leading the P5-plus-1, stated that the West accepts Iran’s position that, as a signatory to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, she has a right to a peaceful nuclear program and nuclear power.
"Iran’s right to the peaceful use of nuclear power" must be fully respected, Ashton said. No one dissented.
If the United States assents to Iran’s enrichment of uranium, and Iran gives assurances that the Ayatollah’s fatwa against the acquisition of nuclear weapons is being observed, a Washington-Tehran deal may be in the offing.
What would be the elements?
An end to Iran’s enrichment of uranium to 20 percent, once Iran has a sufficient stock for its program of nuclear medicine.
Transfer of any excess 20 percent uranium outside the country to prevent further enrichment to weapons grade.
Regular intrusive inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities to ensure there is no diversion of uranium to bomb-making.
What would Iran demand?
Step-by-step lifting of sanctions, as it demonstrates it is telling the truth about not seeking nuclear weapons.
Such a deal would end the U.S.-Iran confrontation, yet allow Iran to continue to gain the knowledge, experience, and technical capacity to break out, should it ever decide to take the risk and build the weapons.
Netanyahu believes Israel’s security and survival mandate the nuclear castration of Iran. Sunday, in a detailed report cleared by military censors, Israeli TV showed how an attack would be mounted.
Yet reporter Alon Ben David conceded that the Israeli Air Force "does not have the capacity to destroy the entire Iranian program."
Unlike the Iraqi nuclear reactor and the Syrian reactor Israel bombed in 1981 and 2007, Iran has many more nuclear facilities, spread over a far larger country, farther away and better defended.
And given the public threats by Israel and test runs by the IAF as far as Gibraltar, no attack on Iran will come as a total surprise. There would be losses of planes and pilots.
What would be the results?
While it would destroy some of Iran’s nuclear facilities, it would not end the program but rally Iranians behind the regime. And it might trigger retaliation by Iran and Hezbollah, by missile, against Israel itself.
An Israeli attack on Iran, which President Obama and the U.S. military strongly oppose, would also put the issue of a U.S. war with Iran front and center in the presidential election.
What would America do; what would Obama do?
The election of 2012 could turn on that decision.
Should Iran retaliate against Israel, the Israeli lobby and the neocons would demand that America come to Israel’s defense. Mitt Romney, the GOP hawks, evangelical Christians, conservative commentators and many Democrats would echo the demand, no matter who started the shooting.
A clamor would arise for us to finish the job of smashing Iran’s nuclear facilities.
As Israel is admired and Iran’s regime is detested, Obama could never declare neutrality. And should he order the U.S. military to go to Israel’s aid, his re-election might well be assured.
As commander in chief and first diplomat, Obama holds all the cards.
If Iran is accommodating, the sanctions he has imposed will be seen as successful. If Iran balks in negotiations, he can impose new sanctions.
If Iran walks out of the talks, he can issue ultimata.
If Israel attacks Iran, he can come to Israel’s defense and finish the job of destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities. If done close to the election, this would assure Obama’s re-election. The "October surprise" of 2012.
What are Iran’s interests and options?
Tehran cannot want war with the United States. For whatever the damage done to U.S. interests, the destruction of Iran’s air, naval and missile forces and nuclear program would be total.
The smartest course for Iran to pursue is to demonstrate to the West that she is reasonable and anxious to prove she has no present or future intention of building atomic weapons.
Which is what Iran was doing in Istanbul.
No wonder Bibi is frustrated. If there is no U.S. attack on Iran by November, and Obama wins, there may never be a U.S. attack on Iran.
Israel cannot do to Iran what Bibi wants done to Iran. Only Obama can.
But how does Bibi get Obama to do it, before November?

So for, Iran has only acted reasonable. In fact, it's the only player in this circus of death that has been acting reasonably.
Left out of this lovely scenario of war with Iran is the dramatic increase in gas prices that results in another wave of financial depression, which would cost Obama the re-election and would put the Republicans in a bind- reject Obama's war responsible for the mess or be more war mongerish as to not disappoint their israeli masters.
How does bubu get Obama do follow his orders? Well, the israelis have an excellent track record in getting their servile and sheepish prostitutes in DC to do what they want. They have an army of necon zombies, military experts, "journalists", commentators, authors, former military personnel, and countless other traitors. Not to mention, they have infiltrated the Pentagon, State Department, FBI, CIA, etc. Obama disobeying bubu is inconceivable.

An attack on Iran by the U.S. and/or Israel would be a criminal act of aggression. The nations of the world would regard the U.S. and Israel as rogue states. Of course, the world already has plenty of foundation for that belief. . . .

Bibi's defeat is tactical, not strategic. He will win, and Obama's willingness to negotiate is only a ploy to stall for time and create a pretext for war by not negotiating in good faith.

Pat sums it up very well.
October would be the perfect time for Israel to get a war declaration in the Congress – as Bush did in 2002.
But Obama goes to war without bothering to lie to Congress.
So it will simply be war – or not. Obama will do it if he needs it to be sure of winning. And the pwogwessive Dems and "Peace and Justice" groups will fall right in line.

"Netanyahu believes Israel’s security and survival, [as regional hegemon and usurper of Palestinian rights] mandate the nuclear castration of Iran." There, now the quote makes better sense. If you want to begin to understand the lunatic Netanyahu, study who his father is. Until Israel stops stealing Palestinian land, she is an untrustworthy player, and everything her leaders say should be taken with a huge grain of salt, including "if," "and," and "but."
I am sickened at the thought of Israel and her supporters dragging my country into another war, which we can't afford and which will cost American lives. To paraphrase Bismark: Israel is not worth the bones of a single American paratrooper.

How to force Obama's hand? Come on, put on your thinking caps. Anything that can be attributed to Iran which will make Obama look like a wimp if he refuses the bait. It could be something someone else does, but evidence is provided by Israelis and their sympathizers that it was Iran which was the ultimate perp. Not exactly a false flag, but you see how a political opponent could join in with the chorus for a war as response. You are dealing with naked ambition here, on all sides.

You know the problem is that there are no sanctions for false flags or lying intelligence. No consequences to those who use that. There has to be fear to do something like that, and Bibi has no fear, really, because he is as was hoped by earlier Israeli leaders "a mad dog". So something new has to be tried, in which Israel is forced into transparency. The problem is that balance, equality and proportion do not seem to be in the mix for them. They don't care about standing tall among the nations of the world, that isn't what they are in the game to do. Certainly their society has members with pride and compassion, but they are not the leaders. It's rather sad. Maybe after some more life lessons, things will settle down, but it will be very costly. Wanting to be a mad dog – can you imagine George Washington saying that? I can't. Well, maybe Andrew Jackson.

In this age of astounding victory of scientific thoughts over gross superstitions, over moronic imperial ideas and so on, it is alarming to watch a few crazy characters ceaselessly talk about WAR, about sadistic sanctions or about imposition of their atrocious wills over their weaker adversaries.
These are all happening while science now proves, “for every international conflict there exists at least one non-violent solution which is beneficial for both parties, provided both are rational, fair and respectful of each other”
Indeed Wars, except rare cases of defensive wars, are the most vivid manifestation of stupidity, primitiveness and savagery of aggressive human tribes. Science now, using fMRI, easily demonstrates those who push for wars, similar to serial killers or hardcore imprisoned criminals, undeniably possess same features of psychopathy. They are all deceptive, apathetic and remorseless as far as sufferings of “others” (or members of other tribes) are concerned..

Part 2
Science also proves warfare has been a characteristic of mammalian existence for millions of years. Try to find watch an eye-opening National Geographic film about Jane Goodall and the Chimps in Tanzania. There you’ll see, in a chimp-warfare, how members of a chimp tribe, in an organized manner, attack fellows of another tribe savagely beating them to death.
Science (Gene Sequencing) proves about 99% of genes of human beings and chimp are IDENTICAL. Thus the foundations of the whole process of human warfare is now known to science.

Part 3
Science shows our brains have evolved based on the principle of Natural Selection. In order to survive we have kept our animalistic (Reptilian / Mammalian) brain but on top of those primitive layers a new layer (Neocortex) has been added. In primitive societies, similar to chimp tribes, whoever is physically stronger or whoever can use a bigger club is the “winner” but in advanced human cultures where Neocortex is frequently activated there are no losers, everyone is a winner.
It seems humanity, as far as science and technology is concerned has entered into a fascinating arena of astonishing feats such as TV, compiling the Genome Library, building satellites, computers etc, while as far as general social interactions are concerned our humanity still dwells under animalistic primitive domains. (still crazed profiteers and moronic warmongers are calling the shots and are pushing for utterly absurd wars).

Part 4
Historical events of the last century show our humanity is approaching the point of entering the arena of civility and intelligent coexistence. The fact Germans, French, British and Spanish, after centuries of perpetual warfare, are now living under the rules of peaceful coexistence is the best example of validity of the above assertion.
The above thesis also reveals who are the entities that are blocking the road towards reaching the bright destiny of civil harmony. It is not hard to identify them. Among many less important groups the profiteers of military / industrial complex and those who advocate new hegemonic wars are the real enemies of our fragile humanity. They are the ones who stop all of us from achieving our social potentials. They are the ones who waste trillions for wars, trillions that could have easily eradicated all sources of miseries for all the inhabitants of the globe.

Netanyahu’s cries for WAR, for sadistic crippling sanctions and for collective punishments are like echos from the times when the most abhorrent forms of savagery were the norm, when God was ordering his tribe to annihilate Amelkites.
I think he probably is the most effective enemy of Israelites
His cries are what enemies of Israel want to hear This is deplorable since as Saadi’s poem (inscribed in the UN’s Hall of Nations) implies we are all members of the same family, no one is chosen. No one is “uber Alles”.
The following profound science-based video supports that beautiful proposition:

The clockwork of American elections: Every 2 years the fight for the Congress and every 4 years for the control of the White House as well as the Congress; are the overwhelming determinants of the US foreign policy in the year leading to those elections.
In the case of Iran it is therefore instructive to look at what happened back in 2008, the year of the last presidential elections in the US, in order to guess what Israel might do in 2012.
In 2008 Israel kept up reminding the world that Iran’s nuclear program was the existential threat the Jewish State would no longer tolerate and would remove militarily.
Then, in 2008 prior to the polling day in November, the air was thick with media speculations in the US about an “October surprise”: an US/Israeli attack on Iran just before the US presidential vote. The Western opinion-makers seemed then, in 2008 just as worried as they are today, that Israel was on the verge of attacking Iran with or without American participation or approval.
No American or Israeli attack on Iran materialized in 2008 and has not since. But in the meantime Iran has improved its capacity to defend the country and retaliate more effectively if attacked. It has also launched 3 satellites since 2009 as a small indication of the country’s much improved war-making capabilities against Israel.
Would the same Israel that did not dare get itself and the world involved in a war with Iran in 2008 risk a war now in 2012?
Iranian leaders have said it time and time again that they don’t fear Israel ever attacking Iran without American approval; and they are obviously not going to be fooled by the shrill threats emanating from Netanyahu and his defense minister in an American election year.
The fact that the Islamic Republic has decided to negotiate and perhaps forfeit some of its NPT-guaranteed rights is because of the severe US-imposed sanctions and the perception of vulnerability President Obama might show to Iran–policy assaults by the Israeli Lobby and the Republicans in this election year.
The Obama Administration should seize this fleeting opportunity, conclude a satisfactory nuclear deal with Iran and free the world of this never-ending din of war once and for all.

'Tehran cannot want war with the United States. For whatever the damage done to U.S. interests, the destruction of Iran’s air, naval and missile forces and nuclear program would be total' What a short sighted statement! It is the US that should not want to start a war with Iran because its losses will be much greater. At the end of it all, not only lives and billions in material destruction will be suffered but its weakened military and worldwide resentment will ensure that its current unchallenged control of the ME and the world at large will be lost to the "new " superpowers: Russia and China.

Our Congress has already proved to us there will be no war when they abdicated their wartime responsibilities to the White House. No declaration of war = no war. Congress doesn't vote, and win or lose they can't be held accountable.
The itty bitty problem between fighting a WAR and a 'Kinetic Military Action' is that people still die. They die a LOT. And no one is held responsible for their deaths because, after all, Congress never voted to go to war and the President has placed himself above the law. I guess the soldiers themselves are responsible for their own deaths because they didn't fight hard enough, right?
And old anecdote from the French Foreign Legion comes to mind (it may actually be a movie line, but my memory fails me at the moment). In it, a French officer is addressing a batch of freshly recruited Legionnaires: "Legionnaires, you have joined the Legion in order to die for France. France has heard your call, and she is sending you where you can die." …… If only the US were that open and honest with its own legions.
