58 Killed across Iraq; Over 120 Found in Mass Grave

Rainwater has exposed a new mass grave in Sinjar. Witnesses to the executions estimate the grave contains about 123 bodies. It has yet to be excavated, because it has been booby-trapped with explosives. It is the sixth mass grave found so far.

At least 58 were killed and 29 were wounded in recent violence:

A suicide bomber killed seven people and wounded 17 more at a checkpoint in Tuz Khormato. Responsibility for the bombing has not been taken. In recent weeks, tensions in Tuz Khormato ran high as Shi’ite militiamen and Kurdish Peshmerga clashed.

Security forces mortared Fallujah but killed 15 civilians from the same family.

In Hilla, the body of an al-Jabouri tribal sheikh was discovered several hours after he was kidnapped from a home.

Fifteen militants were killed in an airstrike in Albu Aitha.

In Juwaiba, nine militants were killed and 12 were wounded in an airstrike.

An airstrike killed nine militants in Tal Afar.

An airstrike on Zab killed a militant official.
