24 Killed in Iraq Eid Attacks, Clashes

Despite Eid al-Adha observances, only one significant attack took place today. At least 24 Iraqis were killed and 34 more were wounded.

A bomb exploded outside a Sunni mosque in Kirkuk, where it killed 12 people and wounded 26 more. Children were among the victims.

A bomb killed three policemen and wounded five more, including two civilians, in a blast in Balad.

In Mosul, gunmen killed two brothers who were on their way to a mosque. An I.E.D. killed three policemen, one of them an officer.

Three gunmen were killed and another was wounded during clashes in Shirqat. A fourth gunman was killed separately.

A roadside bomb in Aneh left two soldiers wounded.

At least three more people were wounded in attacks in Baghdad, Kirkuk or Nineva province.
