Fresh Iraq Attacks Leave 20 Killed

At least 20 people were killed and 49 were wounded in ongoing violence. Another 21 Iraqis were executed by the government.

The Justice Ministry announced the executions of 21 Iraqi men convicted on terrorism-related charges, bringing the total number of executed to 50 this year.

A car bomb in Aziziya left seven people dead and 20 wounded.

In Mosul, gunmen killed a policeman and wounded his brother. Two more policemen were shot dead. A civilian was wounded in a car bombing. Gunmen killed a civilian. A bomb targeted the provincial governor’s convoy but left no casualties.

Near Mussayab, a bomb killed a soldier and wounded two more.

A blast killed a civilian and wounded five others, including three police officials, in Tarmiya.

A car bomb killed two soldiers and hurt seven people.

Gunmen attacked a checkpoint in Shirqat where they killed two Sahwa members and wounded one more.

Six people were wounded in a pair of blasts in Baquba.

A roadside bomb in Jurf al-Sakhar wounded two policemen. Two soldiers were wounded in a small arms attack. Two men were killed as they were allegedly planting bombs.

Two soldiers were wounded in an attack on their Kirkuk barracks.

Gunmen killed a policeman in Falluja.
