Five Killed in Iraq, Including al-Qaeda leaders

Violence subsided dramatically, but at least five people were killed and seven more were wounded. Among them were two insurgent leaders.

In Hit, a roadside bomb killed a policeman and wounded two more. A police officer was wounded when a sticky bomb on his car exploded.

An al-Qaeda leader and his aide were killed during a raid in Buhriz.

An Islamic State of Iraq wali was killed during a raid in Baaj.

In Haditha, a tribal sheikh was assassinated.

Two soldiers were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in Baghdadi.

Two bombs exploded near a Kurdish official’s home in Tuz Khormato. The first one injured a policeman, while the second caused burn injuries to another person.
