Sahwa Fighters Targeted in Baghdad Suburbs

At least 10 Iraqis were killed and 10 more were wounded in new violence. Most of the known attacks occurred in Diyala province or Mosul, while no incidents were reported in Baghdad.

Four Sahwa members were killed and three others were wounded near Meshahda in al-Nibaie when a bomb targeting the patrol exploded and killed the first two. A second bomb then blasted first responders. Two civilians were also killed.

In Mosul, an I.E.D. killed three civilians and wounded a fourth. Gunmen killed a Christian man working at a restaurant. Clashes between police and gunmen left two bystanders with injuries. About 800 prisoners are on a hunger strike claiming mistreatment.

Two children were wounded when an I.E.D. blew up near their Katoun home. The family had recently moved back into their home after having been displaced during the height of sectarian violence.

On a highway between Balad Ruz and Kanaan, a bomb exploded and wounded a soldier.

A Sahwa member was wounded when a bomb exploded in Mandali.

A bomb exploded in Hilla, but no casualties were reported. A second device was located and defused.

An explosion in Bani Saad left no casualties.
