Tuesday: 2 Iraqis Wounded
Updated at 5:51 p.m. EDT, Sept. 22, 2009
Due the Eid al-Fitr holiday, news out of Iraq has been scant. Only two people were reported wounded today. Back in the United States, a U.S. soldier has been charged with murder in the death of a U.S. contractor on Sept. 13 in Tikrit, and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is in New York to ask the United Nations to drop any Saddam-era debts Iraq still owes.
A female al-Qaeda suspect and her two brothers were arrested in connection with a bomb blast that wounded a taxi driver in Muqdadiya.
A man was injured in Mussayab as he was trying to flee from security forces there to arrest him.
Seventeen suspects were detained in Baquba.
Near the Syrian border in Qaim, a suspected arms trafficker was captured.
