America died almost a decade ago. Our so-called Republic is now run by swindlers and torturers. Why? Too little Democracy? Don't kid yourself. The overwhelming majority of Americans (and anyone else, for that matter) are half-evolved cretins who can only relate to other Human beings through tribal or group affiliations. This same majority will always, without a doubt, trade 25 units of liberty for 1 unit of imaginary security, because they simply aren't wired to conceptualize democratic principles. In short, they are rats in a maze, whose only goal in life is to escape the electric floors and grab the cheese. The fundamental failing of the founders was the assumption that all men were created equal. Maybe America will have some meaning, in the grand scheme of things, if it causes intellectuals to finally admit that the common lowest-denominator joe sixpack can't ever be counted on to act in his own self-interest.

So, what is it that we Americans are supposed to be celebrating today? The ideals of the American Revolution? Life? Liberty? The pursuit of happiness? Our ruling establishment has made a mockery of those ideals. They are destroying everything the founders of America fought and died for. On the home front, they have turned America into an economic basket case and a fascist police state. Abroad, the entire world now sees America as being nothing more than a bullying, arrogant, lying, thieving, murdering, empire. I'm not celebrating the establishment's sick and perverted vision of the ideals of the American Revolution. I will spend July 4th lamenting the death of the greatest hope for human liberty and prosperity the world had ever known. May God forgive us.
